Is any work about fixing different AI's stupidities held?
For example, AI's all ground forces run to the shore when ship approaches, even knights and footmen, who just aren't able to harm the ship. This looks like the most serious downside for me because it makes all battles, held on the island maps 100 times easier - you just need good fleet, and because 99% of all the AI's forces will just run to the shore, securing island turns into a really simple and straight task. You just need few grunts and good fleet

Unfortunately Wargus' AI has not been worked on in some time, and seems to be quite rudimentary at best.
As the game ages, finding human opponents will become less and less likely, and hence a strong, adaptive AI engine is becoming increasingly important.
That being said, to overhaul the AI engine would be a mighty task - Someone would have to be devoted to that section of development, and that section alone, in order to see success. A noble cause.
