Just wondering a few things about some of the people on here who contribute to the code base of stratagus...
When did you start learning to program?
What was you first game that you wrote, or first program that you wrote?
What language/s did you learn and how long did it take you to get good at using them to make effective code/games.
What resources did you have at your fingertips to better learn your chosen language?
How long have you been programming for?
I myself have tried learning C/C++ on and off over the years. I can read it ok and work out how things work on a basic level, but I don't know nearly enough to be confident enough to write something from scratch and make it into a functional game/program...I'd love to though, I find this sort of thing to be an amazing skill to have.
Just would like to get a few pointers...(no pun intended)

My first game I made using BAT files. Yep. It was called H Soccer. Then on to QuickBasic 4.5 to make Time to Die! Yay!
