Re: Warcraft II Shareware support?
Actually, it's partially implemented - along with beta and press-release support. The problem is the source for the WarTool data extractor is mostly undocumented and hasn't been worked on in ages. Old binaries execute, but the WarTool source in new releases won't even compile under CMake. As for per...

Re: Wargus Warcraft 1 Recreation
Someone ought to stick the Wyrmsun stuff into the WIP as new units and stuff so that the orcs could build goblins and kobolds alongside the original stuff, and the humans could build dwarves and gnomes. The critters and some tiles might be usable too. I nominate Dinky, TaShadan, and Kargath for the...

Re: Starcraft Alpha/Beta Resources and Remakes
The map can be littered with destroyed buildings, bases and resources. You have decide what you'll focus on gathering and repairing. You can search for information on why a particular building was abandoned/lost to see if its worth repairing, or you can just yolo it and repair everything you find. ...

Re: Aloha
Well, greentiger, the first to do would be to download Wargus, and use the WarTool to extract the data from War2. I would then recommend grabbing the latest version of wargus/stratagus and overwriting the previously installed files. Run it. If there's any flim-flam going on, you'll see it in the std...

Kargath, would you consider putting up Rituals of Rebirth, pre-installed?
We should really try to save these lost bits of gaming history for posterity.
Thank you,

Re: Wargus 1778
Woo!
I've been trying to get WarTool to work with the War2 Demo. Unfortunately I haven't had much luck.
Has anyone else worked on this? As it stands, I couldn't even compile the WarTool with CMake; had to go back to an old rev and use VB.
Alas, tangents have been gone off on.
