I just realised that the character icons have a distinct style that is actually very nice. If only the rest of the art was more consistent.

Yeah, icons, while not professional, have cool style. Probably the best part of old Aleona's Tales assets.

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sv.gnu.org:/sources/aleona co aleona
the http://www.nongnu.org/aleona/download.html recommends checking out aleona.data, but it is completely populated with proprietary blizzard sprites. So don't do that.
