I loved warwind back in the days. Only thing that i always disliked is the way units are produced, by upgrading.
Warcraft 2.5

a fast paced Broodwar/Warcraft2 style mod for Warcraft 3 TFT (without heroes)

yeah, i dislike that too, fortunately, stratagus works like warcraft II does. im finishing some little scripts and i'll upload soon with the first 3 campaign mission from the obblinox campaign and a skirmish map, perhaps in the next week, i'm a little busy with other stuffs. (the four races are somehow playable, but in order to test the gameplay and main features, i concentrated my efforts in only one)

Cool so you will be able to produce units without upgrading (wc2 style)?

It looks good. How did you get them to move through the trees like that?

To get passable trees, you just need to remove the "unpassable" tag from the solid tree and mixed tree tiles in the tileset's lua file.

I meant how did he get the tree tops to have a different depth so that they cover the units which walk through the trees.
