One palette tip is that you can make an editors palette where all of the cycling colors are replaced by a single obnoxious color, then when you load the editors palette into a sprite, it will automatically filter out the unwanted shades of blue(cycling water) and red(non-team colors red). Then you can reload the regular palette and wont have all of the wrong color indexes in your image. You can make other filter palettes as well to avoid using things like team colors or non-cycling blue where you don't want them.
