Gametype: For the Motherland

For the Motherland

A 2+AI VS 2+AI custom gametype. Similar to the Desert Strike gametype seen in Starcraft. Each player allocates resources to units of their preference. These units are then spawned in for the friendly AI to use in attacking the enemy team. Currently this only works with Wargus 2.2.5 as magic has been reworked in the latest version.

An interesting thing I've done here is to insert of the custom scripting into the AI itself. Currently the major issue with it is that it goes out of sync instantly in multiplayer. The relevant files can be find in my Gametypes Extra branch here.

Actually this playtype sounds pretty awesome.

This is more for the community than for myself, but how would you like to make a tutorial, with screenshots, on how you went about making the gametype?

I have a few gametypes floating around in my head, including diplomacy and peacetime types for extended games, and negotiating with NPC players for resources or treaties; however I'm currently focused on converting the Warcraft 2 DOS tools to C++ for use on x64 systems, and eventual integration into Wargus

I've pushed the latest version to launchpad. I've vastly improved the AI and made it so the cities expand when you use more powerful units.

I used FRAPS to record that video.

Seriously mate it is so good you're introducing the new game types into A.T. I haven't had a chance to get the fonts onto the buttons yet, but hopefully I will...Have you decided what font you want to use?

The AI doesn't seem to like the fast seals.
