Re: Custom Heroes

Nice! I suppose it will be possible to add custom icons as well if the player has one?

Re: Wargus Warcraft 1 Recreation

Any chance we can get the source for these tools? I'd like to integrate them with war1gus, but to do so I'd need the source, or at least a reasonable description of what it does. Hallfiry does not intend to share the source code ATM, but he promised to write a description of all the relevant Mac fo...

Not yet. The main problem is, I can't remember where I read about the filter in the first place. They certainly must have used something to post-process the sprites in any case.

Drag and drop won't work for the converters, as you need to specify the palettes. Have you read the documentation Hallfiry wrote?

Re: Wargus Warcraft 1 Recreation

I think you need to rename the Mac data file to something with an extension. I just had a similar issue with the Mac demo data file (can't download your retail file for some reason), and I just renamed it into data.war and everything worked. I think it has always been like that, I just forgot to men...

WinWar - a Warcraft 1 engine recreation

Recently I was browsing SourceForge and stumbled upon a project I had not known before called WinWar . It's an engine recreation of Warcraft: Orcs & Humans that should run under Windows and Linux. The project is currently at a rather early stage of development, with the most recent version being 0.2...

Re: Wargus Warcraft 1 Recreation

Hallfiry told me there had been a typo in the download link, he fixed that now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Warcraft II sprite creation process

It is well known that the sprites in Warcraft II are pre-rendered, created from 3D models, as was typical for the time. However, their distinct feature is a "cartoon", hand-drawn look which suggests some kind of processing after the models were converted to sprites. I remember reading somewhere that...
